On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, OWIT Ottawa was pleased to host an evening cocktail reception with guest speaker Laura Dawson, PhD. As President of Dawson Strategic, Dr. Dawson provides advice to business on cross-border trade, market access and regulatory issues. She previously served as senior advisor on U.S.-Canada economic affairs at the United States Embassy in Ottawa, and has more than fifteen years’ experience providing advice to government officials on trade and economic issues in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Russia and CIS, and China.
This event gave OWIT members the opportunity to learn about bridging the gap between business and government in the international trade context, including a better understanding of how the relationship works (or does not work) and best practices for effectively navigating an organization through the system.
Location: Grounded Kitchen & Coffeehouse (100 Gloucester Street, Ottawa)
