Her Excellency Sofia Cerrato, Ambassador to Canada for Honduras
“The Honduran Experience and Aspirations Negotiating Free Trade with Canada”

Her Excellency Sofia Lastenia Cerrato Rodriguez was appointed as Honduran ambassador to Canada in September, 2010. Prior to her appointment Ambassador Cerrato was Head of Commercial Banking at BAC Honduras (a division of GE Consumer Finance). Ambassador Cerrato has a degree in law and a Masters in Business Administration. In August 2011, the Canadian and Honduran governments concluded negotiations towards a free trade agreement. The Agreement was ratified by both governments in 2013 and will come into force in 2014.
