OWIT-Ottawa was very proud to present Laraine Kaminsky, President and CEO of Global LK, and her outstanding workshop onCultural Dexterity at the Chateau Laurier on October 28, 2013. For the lucky members and guests who attended the event, they received amazing new insights into building a global mindset. I personally left the workshop with greater sensitivity and awareness.
Global LK is an international consulting firm that provides strategic consulting, facilitation and program delivery for a variety of global organizations. We were very fortunate to have her present to our OWIT-Ottawa community as she used a variety of exercises to highlight how increasing our cultural curiosity can offer huge opportunities for success … particularly as leaders. She reminded us that globally inclusive leaders should have these characteristics: curious, flexible, aware, empathetic, agile, adaptive, and more.
In her workshop, Laraine valuably focused on cultural, religious, gender and generational issues and how they impact on organizational effectiveness and inclusiveness. Because she has lived on three continents and worked in over 80 countries, she has a strong understanding of inclusion and diversity opportunities and challenges with a global perspective. It was very helpful to have her share her insights and perspective with us and we hope that we will be able to have her return again in the future.
